Father God, I read again and again in Your Word how You continually punished Your Chosen People when they decided following Your directives was not something they needed to do.
When I look around at how our nation has squandered Your blessings, I wonder how long it will take before You decide what we are doing today is ENOUGH!
Today, the last day for early voting, I pray for a repentant turnout to protect and defend the principles of Your Book.
Whatever the outcomes, I want to be like Joshua: as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
Make it so today, for Jesus' sake.
Verses for Today:
"You were to obey my decrees and regulations, and anyone who did this would live by obeying them." (Leviticus 18:5 NLT)
"But the Lord warned Israel and Judah through every prophet and every messenger, saying, 'Turn from your evil ways and keep my commands and statutes, in accordance with all the law I commanded your fathers and sent to you through my servants.' But they would not listen and were as stubborn as their ancestors who did not believe in the Lord their God." (2 Kings 17:13–14 NLT)
"Then the Lord said to me, 'The prophets prophesy lies in my name. I did not send them, instructed them, or speak to them. They are telling you visions that are not true, divinations, nonsense, and the deceits of their own minds.'" (Jeremiah 14:14 NLT)
"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God's messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn't let me." (Matthew 23:37 NLT)
"But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." (Joshua 24:15 NLT)
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23 NLT)
"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9 NLT)
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33 NLT)
