O Lord, my God, I come before You acknowledging my honest human reaction to cling to what is familiar. The fear of the unknown often feels like a giant too large to face, especially when I cannot see what waits on the other side. Yet, as Your Word promises in Isaiah 41:10, "Do not be afraid, for I am with you." Even though I may not know, I rest in the truth that You do. You see all and know all, and You will never lead me to a place I must navigate alone.
Lord, help me grow comfortable with being uncomfortable. Just as You called Abraham to leave his homeland without knowing the destination, I ask for the courage to take that first step. I know there will always be things You ask me to do that do not make sense to my human mind at first. But I believe that the initial step between comfort and obedience is where You do Your best work.
Let my heart find rest in Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding."
Help me to trust and obey, no matter what the cost, no matter how unfamiliar the path, for Jesus' sake. Amen.
Verse for Today: "Do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)
