Dear LORD, my heart is heavy today for my children and grandchildren. A man who has been a special part of their lives for nearly 50 years has come to the end of his earthly life.
I thank You for his faith in You and for the comfort that brings to my kiddos, knowing his life is bound tightly to You on both this side and the other side of earthly life.
Since human measures were not a path to recovery, taking him home where all sorrows have ceased and he has a new resurrected body is a great gift.
Comfort all those who mourn, and help us all to be more mindful that as believers, This World is Not Our Home.
This I pray in the name of Jesus, the Savior of our souls and the gateway to eternity. Amen and amen.
Verses for Today:
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever." (Revelation 21:4 NLT)
"And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope." (1 Thessalonians 4:13 NLT)
"For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands." (2 Corinthians 5:1 NLT)
*"But when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then will come the saying that is written: 'Death is swallowed up in victory.' 'O Death, where is your victory? O Death, where is your sting?' 'The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.'" (1 Corinthians 15:54–57 NLT)
"I'm going to prepare a place for you. And after I've gone and prepared a place for you, I'll come back and take you to be with me so that you will be where I am." (John 14:2–3 NLT)
