The frailty of life...
By Dick Ivey ·
LORD God, The scare this week, when one of my children experienced a health emergency, pulled me up short. I always expect my children to live on long after we are gone home to be with You. It felt like the natural order had been turned upside down.
Lord, You know the fear that gripped my heart. You knew every thought that raced through my mind before I even named it. In moments like those, thank You for helping me remember that You are the One who holds their lives—and mine—in Your hands.
When I cannot protect them, remind me that You can. When I cannot understand the "why," grant me the peace that comes from trusting who You are. Restore my sense of perspective without making light of this pain.
Thank You for teaching me to breathe again. To find rest even in the uncertainty. Thank You for letting my anxiety yield to faith, not because the storm had passed, but because You are still standing in the middle of it.
I surrender this worry to You. Carry what I cannot carry. Hold what I cannot hold. Thank YOU for your grace, In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." — (John 14:27)
"The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore." — (Psalm 121:7-8)
