Covenant vs. Contract

How many of you know the difference between a Covenant and a Contract?

A covenant is a unilateral commitment to honor a promise. It is not subject to the actions of another. It's an "I WILL" regardless of what you do.

A contract is a bilateral agreement between two parties. "I will IF you willl...." and "I won't IF you don't." i.e. I will let you live in my rental unit IF you pay the rent and take care of it. IF you don't, I will evict you.

Marriage is a Covenant Agreement. Josh Howerton, senior pastor of Lakepoint Church, Rockwall, TX makes a clear explanation in his blog below on Covenant Relationships. It is a keeper. Take time to listen.

Marriage is a forever 'covenant'.

If you are not following him, you are missing out.
