Dear God, my LORD and Savior, I am flooded with emotions today. My bride will be in surgery by the time this prayer reaches across my network. She faces double hernia surgery this morning.
I come to You with the normal trepidation that accompanies any surgery, especially because she is my rock and my foundation in all things. I lift up the hands and skills of her surgeon, the anesthesiologists, and the nursing staff. Please grant them extraordinary precision, wisdom, and skill today.
I pray for a speedy recovery—for her body to mend quickly and fully. You know I don't do well alone. Please give me sensitivity and strength in caring for her when we return home. Shorten the cycle of pain and restore to us in full health.
Give us strength to continue our work with marriages for as long as You grant us breath and strength. All of this I ask in the precious name of Jehovah Rapha. Amen.
