Heavenly Father, Thank You for the beauty of the ice and snow that now blankets our world. Most of all, I’m grateful that You have kept the ice from damaging our utilities during these frigid days.
I lift up those who are struggling through this storm. May You restore heat and water wherever damage has occurred, and may You protect the little ones who are cold and hungry.
Teach us to see Your hand in the weather, reminding us that nothing comes our way without Your direction or permission. Increase our trust in You, Lord, for the sake of Jesus. In His precious name I pray. Amen.
Verse for Today: “He unleashes his lightning beneath the whole heaven and sends it to the ends of the earth.” “He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’” “The breath of God produces ice, and the broad waters become frozen. He loads the clouds with moisture; He scatters his lightning through them. At His direction they swirl around over the face of the whole earth to do whatever He commands them. He brings the clouds to punish men, or to water His earth and show His love." (Job 37: 3, 6, 10-13)
