Father, As I sat in my devotional time this morning, I allowed my mind to focus on the reality I will never be in control of my life circumstances. Over and over Your Word speaks about how You raise people up and You take them down. Not I. You.
Then my mind recalled: I can relax and trust in Your control of everything. Not my striving. Not my planning. Your sovereignty.
Instead of striving for a predictable, safe lifestyle, help me seek to know You in greater depth and breadth. Not more comfort. More Christ. Not more security. More surrender.
Trusting in You for all things today. Not hoping so much. Not wishing vaguely. Trusting.
I ask this in the magnificent and matchless name of Jesus. Amen.
