O, my Father, today I was feeling pretty self-sufficient. Moving through the day under my own steam. Handling things. Managing.
But little things made me stop and remember to trust You moment by moment. A caught breath. A delayed outcome. A small frustration that reminded me: I am not the one holding this together.
I know this is all You require of me—trust. Yet sometimes I forget gratitude and attention to Your hand on me. Not because I stop believing, but because I stop noticing.
It is sufficient to keep me standing firm in the midst of fierce spiritual battles and even peaceful times. Your presence—not my performance—is what sustains me.
Just getting through each day is a victory as long as I stay in communication with You. Prayer isn't a religious exercise. It's oxygen.
Please keep me from straying from this basic task, for Jesus' sake, I pray. Amen.

"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." — (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
"Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken." — (Psalm 16:8)
"Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes." — (Ephesians 6:11)
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." — (John 16:33)
Learning to Lean on Jesus...I need a boatload more of that!
