O LORD, my God, Please keep me in remembrance. Just as gold is refined by fire, so my faith is refined by trials—to prove that it is genuine. I know trials are not for Your benefit, to know how much faith I have in You, but so I may know how strong my faith truly is in YOU.
As I cling to You in the midst of adversity, my faith grows stronger and I find comfort in You. May my faith ever increase, Father.
All of this I pray with earnestness in the matchless and eternal name of Jesus. Amen.
Verses for Today:
For trials refining faith:
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." — James 1:2-3
"These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed." — 1 Peter 1:7
For God's presence in suffering:
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned." — Isaiah 43:2
For faith growing through endurance:
"And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith." — Hebrews 12:1-2
For comfort in adversity:
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles." — 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Afterthought for This Week:
"Brothers and sisters, this prayer speaks to a truth we all wrestle with: Why does God allow trials? James and Peter both teach us that fire doesn't destroy gold—it purifies it. The same goes for faith. God already knows the measure of our belief; trials help us discover what we're holding onto. In caregiving, in waiting rooms, in late nights—clinging to Christ refines us. May we never resent the fire, but trust the Refiner."
