Elizabeth Barrett Browning penned…’grow old along with me, the best is yet to be, the last of life for which the first was made.’
So much of our culture is built on physical beauty…but the older we get the more the allergy to gravity takes hold of most all of us. Somebody told he he had a furniture figure…his chest had fallen into his drawers.
I gotta tell you, the comfort of knowing The Gorgeous Redhead loves me no matter what, or how I look…and I think she is still the prettiest girl I know.
This is not something which happens to us, it is something we do on purpose. I hate how I got here to be married to this the love of my life, but I would not trade for the 35 years we have had and if God tarries, I will love her until one of us lays the other in the arms of God.
Don’t you want that kind of relationship? Listen…it won’t just happen to you, you have to make it so on purpose. COMMITMENT says one of you has to die to get out of this relationship.
So, Red, I will love you forever and ever…Amen!!
