They do not know how to listen with curiosity and understanding, and they do not know how to listen without judgment and speak without criticism when they talk. Too often they just listen to respond and not to understand.
They also get stuck in the “What’s In It for Me?” trap. It’s amazing what can happen if they can learn how to have servant’s hearts toward each other. “How can I serve you best?
Those are both learned skills and when applied, they transform lives.
You tell me why these basics building blocks of relationships are not being taught with any degree of breadth in our society. I have no idea.
