The Gorgeous Redhead (TGR) and I had a date last Saturday with one of our couple buds and went to see the Kendrick Brothers’ film War Room. If you have not seen it already, it’s time to go. When it comes out on DVD, you ought to get a copy to keep.
Priscilla Shirer, J. C. Stallings, Karen Abercrombie, Alena Pitts, Beth Moore and a stellar supporting case brought a clear and concise message. No marriage is beyond repair when the couple has a willing spirit to change and at least one spouse develops a heart for prayer…even a war room.

I learned a long time ago that the old adage that “Big boys don’t cry” is a crock. I was wiping my eyes and my nose on my sleeves throughout this compelling story of how to make your marriage survive…anything.
We teach folks all the time that they can have a reasonable expectation of being able to get what they want out of their marriages. We know that is the truth, because we eat our own dog food. TGR thinks that’s too graphic, so she tells everybody that our mess has become our message or we teach what we need to learn the most.
However you craft it, the message is clear. YOU can have a vibrant and successful marriage if you just learn how.
We like to remind folks that if you want to feel what loves feels, you must do what love does.
War Room is a delightfully straight forward representation of that fact. Love is a verb and not a feeling. It’s amazing what random acts of kindness coupled with a heavy dose of forgiveness and bathed in prayer can do for your marriage.
