Season of Gratitude

LORD God, my Abba, thanksgiving is more than just a day for me, but I am grateful for the reminder to do so every day.

I am grateful today for an earthly Daddy who heeded Your call on his life to ministry and became the instrument of my healing from fatal illnesses as a little boy. Dad responded and You healed me.

I am grateful for churches who taught me to love You in simple faith and for my childlike profession of faith in You.

I am grateful for Your protection from the violence and drugs which were rampant while I was in high school.

I am grateful for the opportunity to attend Howard Payne University, a Christ-centered place.

I am grateful for seminary education studying under great men of faith, and especially for Leon Marsh.

I am grateful for two little boys who taught me much about unconditional love.

I am even grateful for the years I wasted during which you protected me from grievous harm many times over…never letting me up or off or go. Thank You for bringing me back to You and for giving me honorable work to do for You.

I am profoundly grateful for my help-meet, my joy, my wife, my love with whom I look forward to growing old together in Your work.

Finally, I am grateful for the home in heaven reserved for me.

Thank You, LORD. Amen

Verse for Today: 13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. (Psalm 139:13-16)
