Father God, my heart breaks as I have thought today about all the abuse Your young son, Jesus, must have encountered from his peers in Nazareth…the taunts about who His daddy was, why His mom was not married when He was born.
I guess part of me is glad You have in Your grace not included the cruelties Jesus must have faced even growing up as well as how He managed all the abuse at the end of His life.
Help me to stamp out bigotry and cruelty wherever it occurs on my watch, and teach me the kind of humility and grace and peace and willingness to accept anyone as our grown up Jesus taught each of us, this I pray in His High and Holy Name above all others. Amen.
Verse for Today: “Whosoever will may come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” (Revelation 22:17b)
