My Father, my God, today give me time to reflect on the events leading to Jesus’ birth and early life…the announcements to Elizabeth and Mary…the angelic appearances to Zechariah and Joseph…the decree for taxation…the long journey for a pregnant teenager…the stable for His birth…the shepherds…the angels…the home in Bethlehem…the Magi…Herod’s decree to kill the baby boys…the trip to Egypt…settling in Nazareth for His childhood.
Thank You for preserving these precious stories for us and all time. In all the other light and sound of this season, help me keep the wonder of how You knit all the pieces together to create the mosaic of Your inexpressible gift of grace.
Thank You, in the name of Jesus, this I pray in Your holy name. Amen
