Dear God, my Father, thank you for being with me in every transition and change. As I enter into this new era in our world with all the excitement and even some of the anxiety about where our world is headed, I recall your deep compassion, presence, and abounding love over time when Your people failed to be grateful and attentive to You and Your will. Please help us learn from our history.
I thank you for the gifts, talents and skills with which you have blessed me, and for the blessings you have bestowed on our nation. Please help us refrain from squandering your generosity.
I thank you for the experiences which have brought me to this moment. I thank you for the work of others who give breadth and depth to our own work.
Please be with me as I move forward into the unknown of a new year. Thank You for your everlasting presence. Hear me as I pray, because I ask this all in the holy name of Jesus, my LORD. Amen
