Watch over those who grieve, Father.

Dear LORD, maybe it’s just my imagination, but it seems like grief and loss thrust their ugly heads into our lives more often at holiday times.

When deaths come out of season and before the end of long and full lives, I have a hard time getting my mind around the losses emotionally and intellectually. They just hurt.

Will You be extra close to those who love Peggy and Betty and families who lost their loved ones over Christmas and New Years.

Send me to places where we can share the hope of heaven with those who hurt, this I pray in the name of Jesus who was and is always so close who suffer loss. Amen

Verse for Today: “We don’t want you, my brothers, to be in any doubt about those who “fall asleep” in death, or to grieve over them like men who have no hope. After all, if we believe that Jesus died and rose again from death, then we can believe that God will just as surely bring with Jesus all who are “asleep” in him.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13 PHP)
