Dear Heavenly Father, I hope I never lose the sense of awe at what took place on that first Christmas morning when You, the eternal Son of God Himself was born into the human race as the perfect Son of Man, and was clothed in a Body of a little baby boy, a body You prepared for Him so He could become my perfect Kinsman-Redeemer, to save a lost race of sinners like me from eternal separation from You, my Creator.
It staggers my understanding that Jesus should be born to die, so I could be reborn to live. How I praise You, my Father at the wonder of it all, and I thank You for the good news of great joy which was proclaimed to men on earth, should be THE Child Who was born of Mary and the Son Who was given by You, Father, should be called Jesus, Saviour.
Help me never to lose the child-like wonder of the glory of that first Christmas morning, when my God and Savior was born to die for me. I will praise Your name through time and into eternity, for You alone are worthy of all honor and praise. In Jesus’ strong and precious name I pray, Amen.
